I was doing some research for a paper in another class, and came across this blog/analysis of Kevin Carter's famous photograph with the Sudanese child and the vulture. We had a really interesting discussion about it last class, and I figured you may want to check out this link --> http://www.faithfictionandflannery.com/2010/05/kevin-carter-ethics-in-front-of.htmlI think these two sentences really summarize what we were discussing in class regarding the ethics of his photo. "Carter's photo looked at the bigger picture and served the greater plight of genocide in Sudan, but it did not serve the greater need of the child in front of him. The ethics of his profession outweighed the human response to the need of the person in front him."
