Colin Gray did a series called "The Parents"in 1980, documenting his parents, and later continued the project with "In Sickness and In Health" in 2000, documenting their deterioration and subsequently his mother's death. The photos are simple, yet complex, with limited material and space, taking place mostly in a hospital. He used his photography as a way of understanding this deterioration and loss of two people nearest and dearest to him. Though the material is limited, the pictures themselves leave a resounding mark on the viewer, and not once do we lose interest in viewing these beautifully rendered images.
