In her series "Still Here", Goldblatt utilizes extreme light and shade to emphasize human narrative e.g. mortality, stillness, love and loss, and time. Like Colin Gray, her subject matter is limited, usually focusing on one subject or detail, sometimes with extreme close-ups. Similarly, like Gray, she focuses on her aging parents, and there's a sort of haunting tenderness in her photos. You can feel the emotion, even with close-ups of subjects like a closed eyelid, and feel the love that she has for these people. Her images are absolutely stunning.
