Roe Ethridge's work appeals to me for a number of reasons. His success amongst fine art photography greats coupled with his commercial success while still communicating the ironic and critical nature of the fashion industry. I admire anyone who is able to succeed in a field while still remaining humble and making fun of the industry that they're a part of. His use of over the top styling and extremely loud color palettes is impressive the technical excellence in his portraits also keeps me interested in the work and allows me to move deeper into the work than to focus on the technical points.
