Chris McCaw accidentally stumbled upon the process of making his current series of work Sunburn back in 2003. He was on a camping trip making night-long exposures when he forgot about it and fell asleep. He woke up to his negatives being burned due to the sun's intensity. Over the years he worked on developing his process by using the paper itself as a negative and evolving into a beautifully "cooked", if you will, image of wonderful tones and some color reactions with the burning of the paper and gelatin.
I personally find his work very intriguing just by the fact that this process and image material is wildly different than most of anything I have seen in galleries and on the internet, The work itself brings about a new style of landscape in ways that it has never been seen.
