When I heard you say "society and its obsession with image," I instantly thought of the word "infinite" and Nazi oppression during WWII. I imagined rows upon rows of plastic woman smiling wide (i mean scary wide, like they are brainwashed), marching and saluting. Play around with bringing my imagination to fruition. Perhaps use multiple mirrors reflecting one image to achieve this endless tunnel effect? If this isn't making sense, I'll explain in person if you want to meet up.
