Sloth Vs Relle

My first instinct when looking through Alec Sloth's Broken Manual was to then look for the artist statement. I want an explanation as to why these images are being paired together and why he has given these images meaning. It seems to be an exploration of a natural environment that the photographer knows both in the studio and in the objects/people's natural environment. I honestly don't know how I feel about this series. I feel like I'm missing something.

Frank Relle's work however I totally understand. His images are okay and at first are a nice exploration of New Orlean's at night. He spent much to much time being comfortable in his process. 44 images for one series of the same thing is excessive.
