Aaron Smith is a staff photographer for Skateboarder magazine in LA. He graduated from SCAD in 2012 if I remember correctly. I've kept up with his work since he was still in undergrad and what turns me on about his work is that he's involved in a lot of the things I am but has made practical use of is interest and made connections through those base interests and work. While I am interested in gallery and fine art work I can much more easily picture myself on the commercial end of photography after school. Aaron Smith's story is a really encouraging example of someone who was able to break into the industry he loved and also avoid grad school, as silly as that may sound.
