Erik Johansson

I've always been interested in surrealist art. It doesn't matter what the medium is to me. Seeing it in photography is even more interesting due to the concept of truth in photography. Surrealist photography, like Johansson's, is usually edited so significantly that there is no way of not knowing that these images are edited. This is not a bad thing, however. It's art-making, nonetheless. Johansson describes his work specifically as not capturing moments, but ideas. He uses it to collect material to realize the ideas in his head.
