Although Chuck Close is more well known for his paintings, I find his photographs to be equally visually compelling. Yes, his paintings look identical to his photographs, which is awesome all in itself, but his photographs all evoke this closeness and an emotion that I can quite put to words. The amount of detail and the lighting that he uses is what I love most about his work.
