Adam Landis - Weekly Artist Post!

Erik Johansson

Surrealism! It exists quite extensively on the net nowadays, most being poor photoshops of stock pictures, BUT there is some great stuff, meticulously created and 'shopped together. Erik Johansson is one of these artists, with an extensive portfolio and renown before his thirtieth birthday. In fact he has also given an outstanding TEDtalk  (its only 6 minutes long, go watch it! ). His work is all about tricking the brain, creating things that look like they could actually exist in the world. He composes scenes from several images, all shot in the same type of light, and stitches them together to make images that subvert your understanding of the world. His photographs are meant to capture an idea, not a moment.
