Gregory Crewdson

In class, I remember talking about tableau and building sets to use as storytelling in images. Gregory Crewdson was brought up and I was intrigued by his work and the fact that props, lighting, costuming, etc., were purposely and elaborately set up just to make an image. I went home and searched him and actually found out that I had heard about him before in Charlotte Cotton's book The Photograph as Contemporary Art. The image in the book was titled Ophelia and I remember how oddly supernatural it looked and made a mental note (that I unfortunately did not remember) to research him a little.
