Lise Sarfati

     These images are form Lise Sarfati's work, The New Life. This series is based on youth in America. Being that Lise is natively French, she brought a new perspective to the American photography tradition of traveling across the United States to photograph portraits and landscapes. Lise finds freedom of spirit and physical being by photographing in America and wanted to portray that through the portraits that she has made. I find this series very unique, given its context because this series is nowhere close to what I would imagine a series on American youth would be. The idea of a literally foreign perspective to our youth culture and how it is perceived from the outside. It makes me far more interested in photographing overseas and what I would be able to see that native peoples would not.
