James Quinlan - Weekly Artist Post

http://iancheng.com/

I chose Ian Cheng for my next artist because I have a growing interest in net art and Ian Cheng was shown to me last year, making him one of the first net artists I was interested in. He does a lot of animations, which he creates with little knowledge of how to properly animate, so the final videos are often chock full of bugs and strange errors. In general, his animations are disturbing to watch because of how unnatural and unpredictable the movements of the characters are, but there is often a fairly obvious narrative taking place if you can get past the tendency for characters to fold, turn inside out, and contort unexpectedly.
