The link above is to a recent NPR applet about homeless veterans in the US. Once again, I am impressed not only by the subject matter of something NPR covers, but more so how it is presented. I really like the way that the display of information is so quick and interactive. It is informative enough, but also quick and interactive enough to make someone who initially would be less interested stay involved with the story. I think the snap shot gif technique used to show different images the photographer took is really smart as well as the initial quote that pops on screen that is only relevant once we keep reading.
