This week Ertmann's work was brought to my attention, and i have to say... I can't really look away. I find the series About Dying to be eerily captivating. The work forces the viewer to deal with the idea of death though not just their own, but the deaths of those around them which is certainly a harder thing to deal with. The deaths of parents, loved ones, cousins and aunts, uncles and grandparents, a good majority of the will pass before we do. That is inevitable but somehow far off. Catherine's work brings the fact straight to your screen, your home, your heart even.
