Arthur's imagery is so strange, its fantastic. They seem to me, to be straight out of a child's nightmare. After reading about more of his process, that turned out to be a major theme for him. He would have children write him poems about dreams that stood out t him, and friends of his tell him about dreams that they remember from childhood and then convert the dreams to photographs. I love the idea. I might just appropriate it.
