Adam Landis - Weekly Artist Post

Andrea Mariconti

Andrea is a painter from Italy, who, among other things, was an assistant professor at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (Milan), and winner of the UNESCO International Bioethics Art Prize in 2011. Claiming to only use the color white to paint with, his work has a tactile quality that I find intriguing which leaves me feeling that my screen is insufficient to represent it. I have the urge to pull at it, pick at it, feel the discrepancies. I am still trying to wrap my head around the "only using white" thing, which I feel makes the work more captivating. The work also has an aesthetic quality that I severely dig.
