ONE FOR TEN
One for Ten is a interactive web documentary series that chronicles ten individuals that were all falsely accused and convicted of capital offenses and spent time on death row before their appeals were overturned. The series premiered in spring of 2013 and the footage and interviews were collected over a 5 week RV trip that the filmmakers and researchers took to find each of the subjects in their homes. I was interested in this project initially because of the subject matter as I feel it is an issue that is extremely important and often overlooked. However, I came to appreciate the thoroughness and depth of the project found in the many facets of the websites. The films themselves appeal to the emotional and personal aspect of the stories, but the interactive maps and facts give some insight to the scope and scale of the situation that helps the viewer relate on a personal realistic basis.
