Shelby Hastings - Weekly Artist: Chris Tubbs

Chris Tubbs is a French born photographer working between London and Paris. One of his main on-going projects over the years is the Basketball Series, where he takes pictures of basketball hoops of various conditions from all around the world. It originally started 10 years ago in Cuba, and has become his life project. This series now includes over 300 images of said project. It is only captured film.

I really enjoy the photographs because they have an inherent beauty between these hoops of simple nature and the colors of the world around it. Colors is something that seem to really catch my eye and his pictures have this very deep, rich color in it. The vast depth of field really helps capture the settings as well. Overall, I think the project is something that should be kept going because there are so many places that this project can take him and I want to this journey he takes to find these basketball hoops.
