"The conventions of art are altered by works of art"
We've done a lot of consideration on the point that regardless of whether we like it or not, good art will find a way to make us feel-and to be honest so will bad art. Art has an integral convention of we idling some sort of power over it's audience. But it is the work of art, the artist's manipulation of their own ideas and intention that alter that simple convention of art. "The conventions of art are altered by works of art", this sentence brought me back to that place where I was reevaluating how an artist can choose to make their audience feel, how they can choose to use their own work as well as whether what they want their viewer to feel. The purpose of art will always be to wield some power over it's viewer but it's the hand of the artist-the art-that will inevitably decide how that will be done.
