Joey L., Born 1989, is a modern Photographer in the truest sense. He is, in my opinion, a master at lighting and postprocess. Medium format digital is his medium, which is immediately apparent from the detail of his imagery. His photojournalism brings extinct and dying cultures into the world of fine art, portraying them with all the dignity that their lineage demands. It is my hope that artists like Joey L. will bring photography out of this post-internet collage/abstract dark age.
