Joe Johnson earned a MFA from Massachusetts College Art and a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. His work has been seen in Art in America and has been published in the New York Times. Johnson has done many artist lectures at colleges around America. He has done many different types of work and does not focus on one concept in particular.
The above images are from his series The Playing Field. I felt inspired from seeing these photographers by the way that he captures color and objects. He does a great job at making me want to look at more of his works out of this series. When I first read the title to this series, I thought it had something to do with sports, but soon found out that he gives the term "playing field" a completely different meaning.
