Impermanence is a series by Swung-Hawn Oh, which uses home-grown
microbes and bacteria. It then fuses it into the realm of photography by
allowing them to feed on light sensitive chemicals on the film, degrading the
film gradually but severely. Photographers have long been using destructive
chemicals and other methods in order to deteriorate their negatives, but what makes
this particularly interesting to me is the use of the microbial bacteria causing the unstoppable destruction.
