Steve Fitch graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1971 with a degree in anthropology. He was also teaching photography at a studio on the Berkeley at the same time. He later got a BFA from University of New Mexico, and took up a teaching job at University of Colorado at Boulder.
I'm interested in his series titled Western Landmarks. He mainly focuses the project around motels and traveling through the West. I think the way he uses the neon lights makes the scene more captivating. These photographs were taking in the early 1980's, and I feel as if it was an important series to have been made in regards to ways to use light.
