Christopher Anderson Son series provokes an organic
narrative. This narrative follows the birth of his first child and the raw
beauty of family life. However these aren’t your typical family snapshots. Throughout
this project Anderson uses muted colors alongside bright highlights, this helps
to separate the background from the subject. Anderson usage of cropping helps to add to the
organic nature to the project; some images are cropped tightly within the frame
and others have limbs cropped out. Even though some frown upon this he completely
embraces it. I also admire his use of natural lighting again it makes the
images more organic.
