June Korea

June Korea is a photographer who takes a lot of picture of dolls. In his Still Lives series, he started to take picture of just regular dolls that we could see in our daily lives and created a narrative of it. Last year, i did similar project where i also played with dolls and toys to create narrative in digital 1 class, but let's take a look at his early works first.






















































I think he did well on creating a narrative with dolls and especially, the lightings looked really nice on these. However, June takes this concept further and now he uses Sex Doll in his work. In his project, Still Lives : Eva he dresses his doll as if it's real human and created a love story between the doll and a man. Although there is only one facial expression on his doll, different setting on photograph evokes different mood on the doll.
